Martoberfest is back on Saturday, October 12th.
The 2024 Martoberfest Beer Festival is Saturday, October 12th from 3:00-9:00 p.m. in the Martin Courtyard located on 115 Neal St. in Martin, Tennessee. Sample 25+ craft beers and enjoy live music from local artists while enjoying a fall evening.
The event is hosted by the Martin Business Association. The goal of Martoberfest is to help showcase the Courtyard indoor and outdoor venue and highlight local businesses in the Downtown Martin area. We encourage all attendees to shop and support our Martin Businesses.
Tickets and additional details will be released this summer.
**Must be 21+ to sample beer. The Weakley County Prevention Coalition will be scanning IDs at the door and beer tasters will be marked. Please bring identification with you. There will be no beer samples without a valid ID. **In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is scheduled for Sunday, October 13th from 2:00-8:00 at the Courtyard

Today`s Martin Black History Month highlight is business owner Dr. Danny Donaldson. Dr. Donaldson has been working at the EyeCare Center of Martin since August 2008, when he and Dr. Russ Gilliam bought the practice. They moved the practice to a new location (142 Mt. Pelia Rd.) in March 2022. Dr. Donaldson graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 1999. In 2005, he graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis with a Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Donaldson is married to Alicia Donaldson, a social work professor at UTM. They have two children and two grandchildren.
"I would advise anyone wanting to go into the field of optometry to go all in and take it one semester at a time. Don’t get deterred by the total amount of time it takes. It’s worth it. It is a wonderfully rewarding field with many opportunities to specialize in a certain area or work in primary care.
